As I Was Passing

As I was passing..............
I saw dreamy eyed youngsters `lepaking’ as if nothing in the world matters

As I was passing..............
I saw youngsters walking as if in a dream; ears plugged, heads nodding earnestly as if in agreement and harmony with the surroundings without caring the world to it

As I was passing..............
I saw our youngsters in motorcycle groups, pressing the throttles, giving a damn to the curses by the offended nearbys

As I was passing..............
I saw our youngsters at public places, in `tudungs’ and in embrace of equally young mates not caring a jot for the throngs of passersby and the adverse effect of their act to religion they professes

As I was passing..............
I saw our youngsters, in school hours outside school in uniforms with cigarettes in their mouths seemingly proud of not having to learn anything of use to their's and the nation's future

As I was passing..............
I saw all these and more and wonders what's to become of our future with these zombies in the making to replace the has beens who have yet to give something worthwhile to make our next generations better than the one it replaces. May Allah help us all earnestly.
